About Jane
I’m Jane and I’m the chiropractor behind Smile Health.
I wasn’t always a chiropractor and I haven’t always lived in Northumberland. I grew up in Cheshire but moved to Northumberland in 1998 when my husband was posted here in the RAF.
I used to work in engineering but, following a course of chiropractic treatment to help with some back pain, I knew I wanted to help other people with their nagging pains. After I had my twins I retrained to do just that.
What I love about it: it genuinely changes people’s lives and gives them back their smiles – hence my business name!
Here’s a little quickfire to help you find out a bit more about me:
Spa break or city break: city break
Sunday brunch or Sunday roast: Sunday roast
Heels or flats: barefoot
Winter sun or winter snow: winter sun
Owl or lark: lark
Mindful walk or park run: mindful walk
Birdsong or Podcast: Birdsong
Dog or cat: dog
Vegetarian or meat eater: flexitarian
If you’d like to know more, here’s my official small print…
I trained at McTimoney College of Chiropractic, and have been a chiropractor since 2004. I complete a minimum of 30 hours’ CPD to maintain my registration with the professional body for Chiropractors, the GCC.
I’ve done some rehabilitation training to help my clients in the longer term and have also trained as a breath coach. Having suffered from COPD myself, I have a particular interest in lung function and will always observe my clients’ breathing for signs of stress and anxiety.
Words to live by
“If you listen to your body when it whispers, you won’t have to hear it scream.”
